I have always loved pictures of Josephine Baker from the 1920's and early 1930's.
Her photos show her beauty, glamour and fabulous style.
Although she was born in America she went to Paris early in her life to escape the prejudice she felt while trying to perform and went on to become a star of the Folies Bergere as well as in motion pictures. She led an incredible life, including assisting the French resistance during WWII and adopting 12 children of different nationalities. I never realized until recently that there was so much film on her done in the 1920's and early 30's.
The Tribute video below is wonderful to watch and very enjoyable. It takes about 10 minutes but it is well worth the time. Below it is a very short video of her famous Banana dance. I've also included some more still photos of her. Enjoy!
